Marco Tempest on SIGGRAPH2020
Virtual Conference, , SIGGRAPH
August 2020
Marco Tempest made an appearance at SIGGRAPH, the world's largest historic conference and exhibition of computer graphics and interactive technology, which traditionally brings tens of thousands of people from around the world to North America for a week in July or August. But the 47th edition of SIGGRAPH 2020 will be held as a virtual conference, with the on-demand WEEK 1 starting August 17 and the live WEEK 2 running for five days from August 24-28, with on-demand streaming available to watch afterwards until October 27.
Marco performed magic with an indoor drone, card magic with a depth sensor, and face tracking to become a historical figure. The base of this drone based magic was created in 2016 in collaboration with Rhizomatiks Research from Japan, and in his keynote he mentioned that "open source" co-creation is very important, with the message that magicians are prototyping the future of technology.
