New Novel Drafted by TEPPEI NAKAMURA Published: Ichiokubun no Ichi no Shōsetsu

With its original draft by Teppei Nakamura, the novel Ichiokubun no Ichi no Shōsetsu was authored by Saiki Yoshida and released on September 19, 2015 by publisher Kadokawa Shoten.

While shooting his new documentary film The Song about the rock band UVERworld, Nakamura listened to every one of their songs. One song in particular made a powerful impression on him - Ichiokubun no Ichi no Shōsetsu (roughly translating to A Novel of a Hundred Millionth) - and he wanted to make it into a movie. From this moment of inspiration, the story was born.

The documentary takes the form of a Grand Hotel theme, filled with Nakamura's personal worldview and ideas from the lyrics by UVERworld. With its variety of characters, linked through the natural world of Yakushima, the novel is an exploration of human nature.
